Former Clinical Supervisor at The Academy for Five Element Acupuncture in Hallendale, Florida

Amanda’s introduction to acupuncture was as a patient in 1992. Her doctor recommended she seek acupuncture for the treatment of migraine headaches. It had been nearly 12 years that she had been taking various prescription medications with no cure and only temporary relief from the pain. After about three months of acupuncture treatment and some minor dietary and lifestyle changes she was able to rely on acupuncture as a means to an end of her pain. Not only did she find a way to rid herself of headaches, she found her passion in pursuing Chinese medicine and helping others improve the quality of their lives.

Amanda began studying acupuncture in 1996, which required relocating to Miami, FL from Dallas. After completing acupuncture college she began a private practice in Boca Raton, FL and remained there for ten years. She enjoyed her acupuncture practice and time spent supervising students in the student intern clinic at The Academy for Five Element Acupuncture until the Academy relocated to northern Florida. In 2008 Amanda returned to Dallas. She began a new practice and is currently the only J.R. Worsley trained Five Element Acupuncturist in Dallas.

Amanda has successfully treated a variety of conditions from alcohol, prescription drug and smoking addiction to various pains in the body either from injury or unknown causes ranging from back and neck pain to sciatica, allergies and chronic sinusitis, arthritis, anxiety and panic disorder, depression, insomnia, digestive issues, fertility and menstrual issues, headaches/migraines and many stress related disorders.

Amanda’s approach to her clients treatment is to take into consideration and try to understand her client’s unique health issues and how they relate to the individuals lifestyle and habits and the effect it has on their health. She realizes the importance of lifestyle, nutrition, health habits, physical activity, career, relationships and family and how each unique individual situation affects the health of the individual, the potential cause of certain conditions and the outcome of the treatment. It is important that individuals understand this and how it can affect the success of their treatments.
